Reflection: We are the reason

this song was sang as the closing song at our last youth service.
If we ponder on the lyrics, we would realise that Christ really came to this earth with the sole purpose of saving us. Why would He want to leave his comfy big throne up there? All because of love...cos He loves us so.

Personally, the song really describes me as a child...how I always yearned for Christmas cos I enjoyed receiving presents from my family. That's the only time we get gifts, other than birthdays.
Yet, as I grew older, I began to understand the real meaning of Christmas - that Christ was born, so that He can save us. Christ was the greatest gift that God gave to us.

I have included the lyrics to this song for us to reflect upon...

We are the Reason
As little children
We would dream of Christmas morn
Of all the gifts and toys
We knew we'd find
But we never realized
A baby born one blessed night
Gave us the greatest gift of our lives
Chorus:
We were the reason
That He gave His life
We were the reason
That He suffered and died
To a world that was lost
He gave all He could give
To show us the reason to live
As the years went by
We learned more about gifts
The giving of ourselves
And what that means
On a dark and cloudy day
A man hung crying in the rain
All because of love, all because of love
Bridge:
I've finally found the reason for living
It's in giving every part of my heart to Him
In all that I do every word that I say
I'll be giving my all just for Him, for Him
We are the reason
That He gave His life
We are the reason
That He suffered and died
To a world that was lost
He gave all He could give
To show us the reason to live
He is my reason to live

i-one-God

Youth Camp 2005 has juz ended, after half year of planning by the youth leaders.
a total of 60 campers joined us, from both the school and our church. We had 25 helpers and facilitators coming on board to help us, which was great!
without the campers and facilitators, the camp wouldn't have been such a success.

Brother Ong Chee Hong, our camp speaker was fantastic, teaching us that we shouldn't be storing treasures on earth, but in heaven.
Uncle Kim Meng held a workshop, teaching us abt the various choices which we have to make in life; Pek Ya taught abt friendships.

I think the Great Pelican Race was probably the main highlight of the camp, with all the campers running around Singapore, ending off with a dinner outside with their respective groups.

A number of our youths have decided to rededicate their lives to God, making the commitment to want to live a God-pleasing life.

To those who came for the camp, bet u guys and gals had fun!
To those who missed it, too bad! :p
